Rectilinear – A shape composed of straight lines and angular corners. Rectilinear shapes can also be referred to as geometric shapes, though geometric shapes frequently reference “geometry” such as rectangles, triangles, hexagons, etc. whereas rectilinear shapes may reference virtually any shape composed of straight lines (rectilinear is a more general definition than geometric).
